Prayer Update…

Dear Prayer Partners,

As we continue to move forward into the New Year there is no shortage of things to pray for. We’re trying something new this month to make praying over our requests a little easier. Each praise report and prayer request will be concisely written in CAPS and bold font and followed by brief explanations for those who’d like to know a bit more about the needs they represent. Thank you all for so faithfully partnering side by side with us in this way. Your prayers are felt and appreciated!

PRAISE REPORTS:

WE PRAISE THE LORD THAT OUR INTERN JAYME GOT HER VISA! We are thankful to announce that our intern Jayme finally got her one-year visa approved. Although she turned her application in several months back the immigration office gave her a full year that started from the time of her approval in January this year. Jayme has been a great blessing to CCK and to us and has proven herself above and beyond expectation. We have been blessed by her heart to serve, her willingness to do whatever is asked, and her foresight to see what needs to be done but wasn’t asked of her. She has been spending time with the youth in our church, praying and meeting with different ladies in our church and showing great effort to meet new people, as well as serving in a refugee ministry on Mondays. In light of all of this Frank invited her to stay on with us for the duration of her visa, which is four months longer than her original commitment. Please pray along with her, and us as we ask God to direct her. No matter what the outcome we are thankful for the time she has served here and pray for God to send more like her to the mission field!

WE PRAISE THE LORD THAT THE PASTORS & LEADERS CONFERENCE WAS REFRESHING & FRUITFUL! Frank is thankful for his time this year at the castle in Austria. It always proves to be such a refreshing week, sitting under amazing teaching and enjoying wonderful fellowship. This year Frank brought our worship leader Karl and Jeff who leads our men’s Bible study and oversees the tech in the church. Thankful for all God showed us!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

SPOTLIGHT PRAYER –PRAY FOR OUR WORSHIP LEADER KARL BECKER AND HIS FAMILY ON THEIR UPCOMING YEAR LONG HOME ASSIGNMENT IN THE U.S. BEGINNING THIS SUMMER: Our worship leader Karl and his family will be leaving us for a year to go on Home Assignment in the States sometime this summer. We will miss them greatly while they are gone but support and understand their decision and trust that God is leading them. We trust and pray that they will return greatly refreshed and ready for another season of ministry in Germany. Specifically, please pray for their adjustment to life in the U.S. and for all the practical things that will need to happen in a move such as this.

URGENT! PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD TO SEND WORSHIP LEADERS TO CCK: We are asking God to fill Karl’s huge spot in our church and ministry by sending us at least two people gifted in leading worship.

PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WOULD USE THE FOLLOWING CCK MINISTRY TO BUILD UP AND REACH OUT: Monthly men’s and women’s breakfasts, Weekly Men’s Bible study. Bi-weekly CCK Friday Night Meetings –on Friday nights we will be alternating between one Selah Worship & Prayer Night per month and one Calvary Distinctive, “What We Believe” teaching nights per month.

PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD TO LEAD US INTO THE RIGHT OUTREACHES: There are several outreach ideas that we have and are praying about right now. We need God to show us which ideas will best connect with the local culture, and/or to give us ideas that we are not even thinking about yet.

PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD’S WILL TO BE DONE REGARDING THE TENTMAKING OPPORTUNITY THAT FRANK HAS: As many of you know, finances are always an issue in some way, shape, or form for missionaries. We have been praying for years for more support or for God to supply the income we need through whatever means He chooses. Recently good friends of ours were praying about how they could be a support to us and for us. This in itself is a blessing that friends would even pray this! Long story short, our friend works for a stateside company that needs workers based in the EU and Frank was recently interviewed for a part-time position. Part of the interview process is the completion of three paid training days at actual events hosted by the company in various European cities. The training will serve as an opportunity for prospective employees and the company to test each other. If all goes well Frank will be offered the position upon completion of the training. This job will involve traveling (all paid for by the company) to different cities in Europe. However Frank will have the freedom and flexibility to choose the jobs he wants to do in order to not interfere with our ministry. Most of the job events are 1 to 2 days long and he will most likely not accept more than two per month. We believe this could be an amazing answer to prayer and a way to make up for what we are lacking financially to survive here. Also, we see it as a way to be a light in the secular world.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR 2019 SUMMER STATESIDE VISIT, THAT GOD WOULD PROVIDE ALL THAT IS NEEDED AND LEAD US IN OUR PLANNING: It will be over 2 years since our last visit to the States and we feel that it is time once again. Our focus this time around will be to rest, get refreshed by sitting in church and traveling to see different friends, supporters and family members whom we haven’t seen in quite a while. Our tentative plans are to visit Arizona, Oregon, Colorado, New York, and California. We have either family, good friends or supporting churches in these States. Our tentative plan is to be stateside for the months of June & July.

PLEASE PRAY FOR COVERAGE AT CCK WHILE WE ARE GONE: We have invited a specific pastor and his wife to teach and oversee the entire time we are gone. We are hopeful but still waiting on the Lord together.

PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD’S BLESSING ON OUR MARRIAGE, HEALTH AND SPIRITUAL STRENGTH: We know that the enemy is always ready to target and attack these areas of our lives as he seeks to discourage, distract, and destroy us and our witness. So thankful our God is on the throne!

PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD’S PROVISION: We are continually blessed to see God provide financially for us but know that we can never be lax in asking Him to do so.

PLEASE PRAY ABOUT BEING A PARTNER AND ADVOCATE FOR OUR MINISTRY AND US: Pray about ways to get behind us in the work God has called us to here. If you want to know how to be a partner or an advocate you can either email us at Gonzos4christ@gmail.com or go to our Advocacy page on the Gonzo Gazette Newsletter by clicking, HERE.
