We pray this newsletter finds you well. Just wanted to give you all an overview on this past month and share on some neat things God is doing in and through this ministry and us.
HAPPENINGS AT CC KANDERTAL: Since we began meeting in public we’ve consistently seen the church continue to grow and within the next couple of weeks we will begin transitioning into the larger auditorium in the building that we meet in. Also, this month we will have our first baby dedication and Frank G. will finish up Philippians and begin teaching a four-week series through the book of Jonah. It’s been encouraging to hear multiple times from different people that CCK is an answer to prayer, for this we rejoice and give glory to God. Many of those coming have been praying and looking for this type of church for a long time that God is now beginning to build here. We are a church filled with Canadians, Swiss, Germans and Americans; we love and are blessed by the diversity. Our co-laborers and we are continually overwhelmed by God’s favor and grace. It is our belief that the Lord is establishing a strong healthy church from which we will begin to reach out to the lost in our community and our city of Lorrach with the gospel. It’s amazing to see God’s vision turn into reality.
MUSICAL PULPITS: This last month Frank G. was invited to speak at CC Freiburg to not only teach but to share about the work happening here. God has been fostering a wonderful relationship between our two churches not to mention other churches. In turn my friend Ted Allen (pastor of CC St. Gallen in Switzerland) taught at CCK the same Sunday. It’s wonderful to co-labor and be in fellowship with other Calvary Chapels in our region. This is true unity.
OUTREACH: As the time draws closer we are still prepping for the team from CC Downey who will be co-laboring with us from November 15-20. Plans are to minister to the kids and families in our area and a possible a day outreach in the city of Lorrach.
HAPPENINGS IN OUR FAMILY LIFE: We have been busy but blessed. Suzie hurt her ankle a couple weeks ago and was unable to attend church one Sunday but she is doing better now and it turned out to be a bad sprain. We are still looking into a new doctor for her Hashimotos disease and thyroid issues. A fun highlight this past month for her was she got to vote as a German citizen in a major election (Prime Minister) for the first time. We love seeing God open so many new doors to us through her German citizenship.
We also began German classes a month back. The class has been challenging but fun. It
also has given us opportunity to spend more time in our counties local city, Lorrach, which is where our class is located. Five days a week, four hours a day there is no English being spoken and yes, this wares you down mentally and physically but we feel this is what we need and it’s worth it in the long run. The time in school each day also offers us opportunity to build new relationships with many people and ultimately we pray it opens a door for the gospel to be shared.
With all that is going on with day-to-day things, we both have been enjoying this season of life and ministry. We are getting to know families in our church and enjoying fellowship as we get to know each other; either having them over to our home or being invited to theirs. On Sundays after church we often try to spend time with our co-laborers as well as during the week for prayer meetings. In our own neighborhood we have been slowly getting to know neighbors and our landlord who lives above us and recently we were invited to a family oriented block party for our street, which is this weekend. We hope and pray as opportunities like this present themselves we will be salt and light to those around us.
SHARING AN ONGOING NEED: One of our most pressing and basic situations we feel led to be transparent about is our current support statues. After losing a major supporting church about a year and a half ago that had to let us go and many others, due to severe financial constraints, we’ve had a difficult time recovering financially and making ends meet. God has been sustaining us with large unexpected gifts but we’ve been lacking in committed monthly supporters, both from churches and individuals. With that, God is also teaching us to trust Him all the more, learning to be content in all things and lastly to persevere in prayer. Would you please pray for this with us and if the Lord leads, prayerfully consider supporting us monthly for the work He has called us to.
Thank you again for reading our update but stick around, prayer is next! Your prayers are important and vital to our lives and ministry. Thanks for standing in the gap through prayer and support!
REACHING OUT: Please pray as God gives us opportunity to be witnesses in our neighborhood, German class, and in our community and city. Also, that the Lord would open doors for the gospel to be shared.
HEALTH: Good health over us both and for the church body to remain healthy as cold and flu season is upon us and unfortunately things get passed around easily.
PERSONAL: We are so thankful for how God loves us and shows it in our marriage and walks with Him. Please pray for a continued fresh filling up of His Spirit, strength for the ministry both physically and spiritually, sweet times in our devotions, continued unity and strength in our marriage, and grace to pour into others.
GERMAN CLASS: Please pray for strength/ stamina as classes are, Monday-Friday/ 4 hours a day and complete emersion. Please pray for God’s grace, mercy and anointing to learn this language. Also, for opportunity with our classmates to build relationships with them, be witnesses for Christ, and that God would give us an open door to share the love of Jesus with them.
NOVEMBER OUTREACH: CC Downey will be bringing a team from November 15th-20th. Please pray for this team as they prep for their trip to Germany; For their travel; As they minister to those in our church and community; For us as we begin prepping for them to come and for the planning; And for God to bless as we all serve the Lord together and for His will to be done.
CC KANDERTAL: We are thankful for this growing church body that God has entrusted to us. Praying for: The Holy Spirit to continue to guide, bless and fill; Pray for those leading ministries in the church and for Frank G. as he pastors and Frank M. as he translates; Wisdom as we transition into the bigger room we will begin renting in the building we meet in for church; And lastly please pray for the Lord’s continued favor as we minister to those attending CCK but also favor for the church body as we begin reaching out into the communities around us.
CCK WEBSITE: Website is nearly completed. Please pray for final touches and logistics on it.
MINISTRY PROVISIONS: Please pray for: A permanent worship leader; Monthly finances for the new building and rooms we are renting every Sunday for church, For more translators so Frank Moll can have breaks from translating and can just sit and enjoy; For more children’s ministry workers & general help in other areas on Sunday mornings; & lastly Equipment for recording the messages in audio and video.
PERSONAL PROVISIONS: Please pray for an increase of monthly financial support, a new doctor for Suzie, funds for German class and wisdom and decisions we need to make on our long-term car rental/lease.
